It was a rough week. A lot of road time and little sleep. My ex-father-in-law passed on the 19th (Mon). The services were on Wed. There were a LOT of people there.Mostly his family. He was father to 6 sons and 3 daughters. I forget how many grandchildren he had (If I ever Knew). He also had a lot of great and great-great grandchildren. He died at home with his wife of 74 years and daughters with him.Married 74 years. WOW! Not many marriages like that around. He would have been 93 today. The man had the best garden you ever saw. He retired from the park department and spent a lot of time in his garden. It seemed strange not seeing the garden tilled and no plants filling the house. Both of them had green thumbs and could get anything to grow. He was an onery one too. He was always pulling pranks on people. Especially kids. Right after I first met him, he found an old record he just had to play for me in my honor. It was "I love to Dance With Annie." I don't know where he found that thing but he got the biggest kick out of playimg it. I had/have never heard it anywhere else. Some of my fondest memories are of visits to Fite Street. The family owns that block. It's a dead-end street so we never had to worry about kids playing in the street. In fact, at Easter, half the eggs were hidden up and down that street. Thirty people there was average and even the hiders had to hunt eggs.Going back brought back a lot of wonderful memories. I'm glad I was able to go pay my last respects.

one day in a row is never enough days off to get everything done that needs doing. As a matter otree and talked to my son on the phonef fact, two days are never enough. You need one day to think about what all you need to do,one day to be depressed about it, and one day to actually get something done. although I did manage to getd a holiday. a few things done today.i cleaned a corner of the desk, locked up my computer (a friend fixed it), bought groceries and got money orders for bills. Plus I did a load of laundry, sawed an offensive limb off a tree and talked to my son on the phone. I can hardly wait to see his reaction to the loss of the limb. It's whacked him on the head a few times when he forgot to duck. I'm wondering how long it will take him to miss it. the touch pad is going wacko tonight and shifting word parts and sentences.Driving me nuts and making typing anything painful. And I type slow so hate retyping.Maybe I can eventually get a grown up pc one of these days.I am getting a decent printer/copier/scanner in about 6 weeks. I put one on layaway and it's due out just after I get my profit sharing check. WAHOO!!!
